We had this jerk come to our home to put our dear 11 year old Doberman down. He arrived on time and did say hello to Capone, my Dobie but that was it. Didn't take an extra second to even pet him. Didn't say two words to me except do you want to pay now or after. I was already affected by his stiffness and coldness. While he prepared the medicine we spent our last moments with our baby. He then walks in the door and sticks my dog with the needle causing my dog to yelp and leap forward. My dog slipped on the hardwood floors. We had to pull my dog back to the blanket. He was quite shaken. This jerk didn't even tell us to hold the dog, have him lay down, anything to keep him from leaping away. The most emotion was a cold "my condolences." I felt anger towrds him but didn't say anything to my girlfriend as I didn't want to upset her further. Turns out she was even more upset by Dr. Wiekamps coldness to use and our dog as well as the harsh way he administered the injection (he absolutely should have given us notice he was about to do it and advise us to hold our dog.) He made it hard for me but I am so angry with him because he affected my girlfriend significantly. She is a critical care ICU nurse. If anyone is used to these type of medical situations it is her. To have her this upset about the way he handled the whole procedure says alot. There are tons of other vets and plenty of mobile vets. Do yourself a favor pick someone else.
